Classical picture of the Li River just outside of Yangshuo. Not much to say about it. There must be thousands of this pic around. Nonetheless, the view is nice and the landscape surrealistic in this area.
And I had a nice time there. Rented a scooter and drove around the area marked by ricefields, coneformed carst rocks and the rivers.
This is one of the typical representation of "traditional China" far away from the bustling Eastern metropolises - and of course that attracts hordes of tourists. Especially Chinese group tourists.
On the plus side is off course the climate AND the food, which is made outside in the foodmarket in the centre of Yangshou, where you just pic up what you want fro the stalls. Especially recommendable (if you are not up to dog) is the beer fish...

I love this shot. those beautiful peaks mixing witht he clouds. A very nice view (with sun must be perfect). Good POV with nice perspective and very nice natural colours.

Hi Henrik,

well, if this is classical, I love classics! :) It is simply marvelous scenery so beautifully composed and places inside the frame. Since I'm not familiar with this part of the world, this landscape amazes me with its difference, high vertical peaks grouping on the horizon. It is simply overwhelming!

Wonderful photo of Li River. I was there many years ago, and even then it already attracted a lot of local tourists. The large foreground works very well in this photo. It gives me a feeling of great tranquility.

Hello Henrik,
is just a photo as this one then two years ago make me keep the decision to travel in China. Any time i see a photo of Li river i remember the spectacular scenery, sure one of the best in the world, the magical city of GuiLin, and the wonderful travel in China.
