Photographer’s Note
Another postcard from Dolomites...
The Three Peaks of Lavaredo are the most famous mountains in the Dolomites, a legend in the world of freeclimbing. They are easily reached from Misurina as well as from the Sesto Valley and when seen from the Locatelli Refuge, they are a breathtaking view.
Emerging from a large pedestal covered with white gravel, they are surprisingly compact, harmonically aligned, wonderfully shaped and coloured.
The Cima Grande (Big Peak) is the highest (2999 m) and it lies in the middle. The second is the Cima Ovest (Western Peak, 2973 m), while the Cima Piccola (Small Peak) is the lowest but the most elegant thanks to its slender forms, among which the Spigolo Giallo stands out as one of the most famous climbing faces.
It's almost impossible to see with 800 pix, but in the photo are perhaps 12 climbers in action only upon the firs peak!

Like in Monument valley but with the colors of Dolomites (*)
(*) Dolomites name came from the name of a french geologist 'Mr Dolomieu' which is the first who reveal the real original nature of this type of limestone-rock
( rich in magnesium )

Bravo Giorgio. :-)
It looks like a natural submarine from this very good angle. ;-) Well seen. I like clarify here and you did a good job with contrast and brightness. Overall composition is very nice. I like it. Your note is also helpful and interesant.

Wonderful, Giorgio! You caught the caracteristic colours of Dolomite rocks perfectly! Also definition and DOF are great and you chose a point of view of the Tre Cime which is not the most seen.
Complimenti!

Certainly is a postcard image. It looks as though its a hidden castle, camoflaged from attacking eyes to look nothing more than a mountain range.
You have captured this very well and as always the blue sky makes the photo look so inviting, enen though there is snow on the ground!
