Orchid in Blue Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is the famous orchid pool of the Halekulani hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. I took this shot, pushing my camera against the pillar of the poolside, for I didn't have a tripod then.
Tech: Rotated(clockwise 2.0), cropped, levels adjusted, color adjusted for drawing colors in Velvia(RVP) accurately, unsharp mask(24%), added frame, and NeatImage(default, 374KB --> 128KB).

An image to dream !
You have caught real beautiful colors with a great harmony between them.
The composition in two equal parts gives an excellent balance and also calm to the image.
Only one very little thing : the petal in the water is just cut on the left.

Excellent commerical type shot; the hue of the sky and the subtely of the colour gradients as they melt towards the horizon is gorgeous and not seen often. The even divide at the horizon seems to work here thanks to the silhouettes.

Perfection! I love the purples, blues, and greens in this photo. Great improvisation for a tripod. Amazing how no one was in the pool!
