Photographer’s Note
Live Oaks are very prevalent in the United States along the Atlantic coast from Virginia south and along the Gulf of Mexico coast as far west as Texas. The wood from Live Oaks has been used in shipbuilding for centuries and is also commonly used in tools because the wood is so strong and dense. The Live Oak remains green in winter (the photo was taken in December). Besides all of that, the Live Oak also makes for a nice cover when laying back and relaxing in the park as well as a nice POV for a photo.
