Umbrella, ella, ella . . .

Continuing yesterday's theme.

They will ask you what's black and white and red,
all over town the forecasters said,
tabloids are deliquescing into the streets,
the teletypes are steaming, ink's at a premium,
and as for the newspapers, holy sheets . . .
The government's dreaming of confessing its sins,
but out in the square streams have gone to our heads,
racing from Brooklyn to the top of the spire,
from the Kremlin to Macy's the barometer's on fire,
and television's burning right through the clouds,
and wet, so very wet, soaking, drenched are the crowds.

(In the workshop, an alternate take, for your edification!)

Hugh-

Another nice post.

I prefer yesterday's but this one is nice too. To me, the red presents a warmer feeling than the green one from yesterday. I think green is more befitting to the mood of the photos.

All the same, still a wonderful photo.

Keep posting!

~Vic~

tem todos os elementos que fazem dela uma foto muito, muito show: modernismo no anonimato, um hint de onde estamos, essa falta de cor que incomoda e atrai.
adoro isso, adoro esse tempo, adoro a série.

I do not understand really how you did it but actually I do not care. It is just a piece of art, just another view of that wonderful skyscrapper in that wonderful city. A very human and soft view. So good...

Hi Hugh,
Heavy rain creates special ambience. And not too many photographers go out on bad weather to catch it. Looking at your previous one you probably chose this viewpoint and spend some time catching these umbrellas passing by. Very good timing with this one.

Hi Hugh,

I like this reflection...tones are quite neutral..therefore the red-white umbrella is particularly suitable for some pleasant contrast.

PS: I also have a similar shot in my italian gallery...

hello Hugh,

this is also a nice one, although the one from yesterday is better i think. maybe a bit more contrast or saturation would make a difference... just an idea.
greetings, inn

Hi Hugh,
Give some rain, give me an umbrella, and I'll love it.
Simple and well made.
Nice one!
Nicolas

Bonita foto.

Your idea is brilliant and works very well.
Well done, Hugh!
