A view of Mount Kinabalu at dawn in Penampang. This photo was taken at an area called Kodundungan which is also known as the Kodundungan Rice Bowl because it is the largest area of paddy cultivation in Penampang.

Sadly, development is creeping up too fast and it won't be long before the paddy fields of Kodundungan fades away into the memories of our elders.

At the bottom of the picture can be seen some 'kongsi' houses belonging to labourers of a nearby construction project.
