Photographer’s Note
The summer palace of Tipu Sultan was built near the north shore of Srirangapattana Island in 1787. It is set in a lovely garden, and side shutters (panels)open to receive the breezes off the Kaveri River. The site is 12 kms away from Mysore. The town of Srirangapattana has a population of just over 20,000 souls. The day of my visit was a national holiday - Children's Day.
