[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I plan to show you a series of photographs in which, rather than the vastness of things, the details become important. In these photos the works of the artists, the tile makers, the stained glass craftsmen, the calligraphers can be admired for their exquisite details, their sense of design and harmony. I also plan to frame these photos in solid frames in order to showcase the artistry and to camouflage the smaller than usual size of the photo, since to preserve the details, I had o reduce the size of the busy shots.
And of course, the photos will come from Turkey- a place so rewarding to the eye.
The details in this photo are from the most beautiful Sultan Ahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque).

Hi Klaudio .
So beautiful and so colourful !
So many details to catch the eye , but in a curious - not desturbing - way which I think has to do with the reiteration of the ornamentation in each different part !
Beautiful !
Kindest regards
Dorte.

Hi Klaudio,

You fixed a fantastic part of vertical view form inside of mosque that full with colorful motifs, precise ornaments. Lights is marvellous and you captured a difficult scene perfectly in natural colors and sharpness. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.

Best Regards,

Ertugrul

Hello Klaudio,

Indeed, your decision to focus on details rather than to accentuate its vastness is an original and wise decision. I look forward to seeing other shots. The mat and frame are understated and highly complementary. Incidentally, you must know that only the Sultan could build a mosque with more than two minarets. But even the great Mehmet the Conqueror (Fatih Sultan Mehmet) and Kanuni Sultan Süleyman (the Law Giver) had built mosques in their own name with just four minarets. Sultan Ahmet, somewhat demented, ordered his architect to build one solid golden minaret. The word for gold in Turkish is "altin." The architect realizing that the treasury of the empire did not have sufficient gold, decided to build six, or "alti," minarets, confessing to the Sultan, who was mollified by the choice. Of course, this is apocryphal, but it makes a good story. You would think that the Sultan, who lived in Istanbul, would have made frequent visits to oversee the building of his mosque.

Warm regards, and have a good weekend.

Bulent

Klaudio,
An enjoyable detail. Somehow the "lines" - the black vertical lines - I'm not sure what they are, but to my eye they transform this solid architecture it a curtain, a meaterial, almost as if we could pull it to one side, and take a little peep behind.
I think a white border may have worked better here. The mauve/grey dulls the appearance of similar colours within the image - to my eye.

colin

Hi Klaudio,
Another excellent detail shot from Blue Mosque. Even the stained glass window shows well. I wonder if it would look better tilt corrected, although there's no definite answer on which one of lines should be vertical.

Hello Daddo,
this is a lovely shot full of details and perspective and indeed with a tasteful frame colour! - I love oriental art and calligraphy.
