Good morning Greg,
this Elm, on top of its great historical value, is absolutely STUNNING. Truly gorgeous!
Wonderful capture, perfect framing and definition.
Thanks for sharing and for adding a WS of the marker.
I'm learning a lot, in all respects, from your pictures.
Have a good day, I'll be seeing you.
Fulvio.

This is a good example of historic places in the new countries such as USA and Australia. In this case, a plate to commemorate the presence of someone important, the country’s future first president. I have seen this kind of things many times in Australia. Being an European from a country with many centuries of history it took me a while to realize that the Australian history only started in the 18th century. Today, the country is more conscious about history and started including the Aboriginal history in their history books.
Anyway, thanks for showing us a piece of American history on a nice and well done picture.

Hello Greg,
The United States has a great history and this worthy elm, used, but always present testifies some, while sheltering and by announcing a memorable event. A beautiful image of last always alive. It is well thought and quite carried out.
Have a nice day
Cordially

Hi Greg,
Looks like this guy has been knocked around some but is still hanging in there and providing a little shade.
Lovely sky to contrast with the lush green of this Palmer cemetry square. Love the shadows and the numerous scares to this old stalwart.
Castine, Maine has a whole village full of healthy elms that for some reason were spared from the Dutch Elm disease.
Regards, Tom

hi Greg,
interesting note, thanks for that. as to the photo - I like a lot how the vertical format emphasises how the branches are reaching upwards. smart framing too with one of the braches creating a strong diagonal, that's something I've always enjoyed. the colours are great, very nice work.
regards,
Kristine

Hi Greg. Nice piece of the american history. Composition is great and the greens beautiful. tfs. Paulo
We have old buildings... but you have very old trees!
To hear that Washington spoke under that tree is really amazing. One never thinks how old trees can be. The only parallel that come to my mind is the pine tree in Caprera planted by Garibaldi, but that was only the end of 1800...
A due tribute to this old veteran!
Best regards,
Donato

What an interesting historical symbol, Greg!
We lost a lot of our elms to Dutch Elm disease a few years ago! It would be a tragedy if this followed a similar fate!
The tree is perfectly positioned, off-centre with its branches spread like welcoming arms. Superb textural details, great colours and fine composition.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Greg,
Seems like one of the old guys that have seen better days..!
Most trees die with dignity, standing upright...
A fine composition with good natural colours, good details!

Hi Greg,
The colours of this image are very pleasant. The tree standing on the right is also a very effective subject. The view is interesting because of the tombstone under the tree. Good perspective of this place and excellent capture of light and details. Thanks Greg.
