[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
View of the tall rock with the chapel Nôtre-Dame-du-Rock (1703) perched on top. The rock appearing from the distance marks the approach to Castellane. The chapel was built over an ancient Roman fort & settlement. It wasn't until the 14th century that the inhabitants of Castellane moved down from the fortified settlement on the rock cliff to the ground level. This photo was taken from where the motorcycle was parked under the shade. You need your own transport for day tripping to this part of France ... no train service and only one bus a day serving the area from Cannes via Grasse.

To reach the Nôtre-Dame-du-Rock (Our Lady of the Rock) Chapel, be prepared for a thirty minute hike, starting from the path behind the Castellane church. The way up is formed by the remains of the old city walls and is a pleasant journey passing the Stations of the Cross. The terrace of Notre Dame du Roc is a great viewpoint to look down on the town of Castellane, the Napoleon Bridge and the Verdon Gorge scenery.

The town of Castellane is located at the eastern entrance to the Gorges du Verdon in the Alpes de Haute region of Provence, France.

Hi Latiff,

you keep your particular work on the saturation and light treatment in your compositions that says it's yours :)) Beautiful rock formation and clever idea to include those trees as the natural framing (like the last post of you). Great job!
Regards,
Carlos

Bonjours,
belle photo de cet énorme rocher presque parallélépipédique surmonter par une statue.
Beau cadre de verdure pour exposer ce rocher.

Amitiés Thomas

Even though I can hardly see the chapel except a tiny roof above the rocks, I can imagine the Lady has attraction to you from this pov. The deep blue sky has given a good contrast to the green trees and rock texture.

Salam Latiff,
i really like the eep blue sky you shot here.
The natural framing of trees and the great texture of the rock. youre a real naturalist Latiff, you dont negotiate with other elements that would distort the view of a good natural object. That is what I could read from your post.
I believe if possiblr you would like to get rid of the barrack of houses as well, because that is what I feel too.
Thanks for sharing this great rock.

Regards,
Foozi
