Jour 3 au Pérou en 2007, un tour en bus dans les routes vertigineuses des environs de Cuzco pendant que l'on continue à s'acclimater à l'altitude.
Intéressant de voir les coutumes locales en termes de grèves des transports pour protester contre les conditions de travail des professeurs d'hôtellerie et des prix de l'essence (en 2007... le pétrole local sert à l'exportation). Au Pérou une grève quand ce n'est pas une procession festive avec marionettes géantes c'est une occasion de mettre de gros cailloux pleins la rue. Ici, on doit utiliser l'accotement de gauche pour passer, c'est la photo la plus claire que j'aie eu à partir d'un mini-bus en mouvement, mais il y avait des rochers ou des arbres pas mal plus gros par endroits, incluant sur les routes à flanc de précipice.
Malheureusement nous avons étés complètement bloqués par un barrage routier passé Calca par les routiers grévistes, et n'avons pu visiter Olataytambo. Dans les petites routes de montagne ça nous a pris 2 heures pour revenir à Cusco et 2 heures de plus pour revenir au delà du blocus.

Day 3 in Peru in 2007, a bus tour of the dizzying roads around Cuzco while we keep getting used to the altitude.
It's interesting to see the local habits in terms of transportation strikes to protest against the working conditions of the hostelling teachers and the gas prices (in 2007... the local oil is reserved for exports). In Peru a strike seems to be either a festive procession with giant mascots, or it's a great occasion to block roads with big stones and debris.
Here we have to use the left side of the road to pass, it's the clearest picture I had of this from the moving mini-bus, but in places there were far bigger rocks and trees, including on roads on the edge of high cliffs.
Unfortunately we where wholly blocked beyond Calca by a road block by truckers on strike, so we could not visit Olataytambo. On the little mountain roads it took us 2 hours to return to Cuzco and 2 more hours to get beyond the blocus.

Unbelievable! How do they drive the cars to cross these roads? Nice and curious image from such a distant and different Country from our Countries. I like a lot the title, very appropriate and the interesting notes. Bravo!

Interesting ! When I was in Bolivia there was a campesinos strike, and many roads where covered with big stones like in your picture.
It must be a common abitude !

plutôt inusité cette façon de faire durant une grève, pas assez de tricoter sur la route tu as dû rebrousser chemin au bout de deux heures de routes, bonne photo reportage,

Very hard to drive under the conditions! Interesting image with a good sense to document the situation of this country. The image is nice given the circumstances of being shot from the inside. Nice work Bruno.

Salut Bruno, c'est vraiment spécial de voir ça. J'avais jamais pensé à ça...je trouve ça ingénieux;) Tu documente bien la situation et ta photo est bien rendue. C'est le fun de venir sur TE pour apprendre comme ça.
Un de mes amis a été pris dans une grève du même genre le mois dernier. Ça a failli scapper son voyage pas à peu près...Je pense même que c'était au même endroit...

un excellent témoignage ! je vois que le prix du pétrole fait l'hunanimité sur la planete mais à chacun la façon de faire valoir son mecontentement. cette façon ne me parit pas la moins bonne, il va faloir en parler à nos syndicalistes locaux ! dommage que celà t'ai couté une visite mais tu reviens avec de l'autentique.
