[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The photo shows the mosque of Plovdiv and a monument of the Greek Philipp II of Macedonia, the father of Alexander the Great. For me Plovdiv is the most beautiful city of Bulgaria.

"Plovdiv is the second-largest city in Bulgaria after Sofia, with a population of 378,107. It is the administrative centre of Plovdiv Province in southern Bulgaria and three municipalities (Plovdiv, Maritsa and Rodopi), as well as the largest and most important city of the historical region of Upper (or Northern) Thrace. The city is an important economic, transport, cultural and educational centre.[2]
Plovdiv is situated in the central part of the Upper Thracian Plain on the two banks of the Maritsa River. It is 10 km from the Rhodope mountains and 50 km from the Balkan mountains. The city is constructed on seven syenite hills, some of which are 250 m high. Plovdiv is often referred to in Bulgaria as the city of the seven hills).
Plovdiv is host to economic and cultural events such as the International Fair Plovdiv, the international theatrical festival "A scene on a crossroad", the TV festival "The golden chest". There are many remains preserved from Antiquity such as the Ancient amphitheatre, Roman odeon, Roman Stadium, the archaeological complex Eirene and others. In the 12th century BC the settlement on one of the hills grew to the Thracian city of Eumolpias which was among the first cities in Europe". (Wikipedia.org)

Hello Wolfgang,
Wonderful POV with the memorial & the minaret placed above the rooftop. Nice details & textures on the background mosque. Well done. Regrads. Latiff.

Hello Wolfgang,
Good use of the vertical format for this interesting composition. I like the sideways view and the juxtaposition between monument and minaret. The architectural detail in the mosque is well rendered under a sympathetic ambient light.

Fast schwebend schaut die Figur über die Dächer der Stadt. Interessant, dass die Moschee den slawischen Architekturstil an den Mauern aufweist. Sehr schöne Komposition.
Viele Grüße,
Achim

Hello Wolfgang,

A superb point of view, a simple but effective composition, the statue and the minaret arise very well in the color of the sky.
Best regards,
Roger

Hallo Wolfgang,

Mark

Hi Wolfgang,
interesting composition and contrast between the monument and the minaret, good light, nice details of architecture...
Best regards,
Andrzej

The two images are so nicely placed in a t\rather comic relationship with each other, Wolf.It is another example of your unfailing, photographic eye. regards kevin

Hello Wolfgang,
An interesting contrast of different styles and different contents. One of those meetings of cultures that can be seen in many cities if you look carefully. Elegantly composed and well managed light and colours.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Wolfgang. Nice photo. The silhouette of the statue and the softly lit minaret make a nice contrast. Well composed and thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

I tried to find the right pov/frame at that place last year, but didn't find the solution. You found it : simplicity and symmetry was the best choice. Well done.
