Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken during 56 hours of solid driving from southern Sweden to the northernmost point in Europe, Nordkapp, and back again. The perpetual daylight around the arctic circle in summer is quite an experience. This is the farthest the sun ever went down during the trip. Further north, closer to Nordkapp, the vegetation gets very sparse and some rivers are covered in ice even during the summer months.
