Photographer’s Note

The Watzmann is the third highest mountain in Germany (Zugspitze is the highest at 2,962m, Hochwanner the second at 2,746m). The three main peaks (right side in image) are Hocheck (2651 m), Mittelspitze (Middle Peak, 2,713m) and Südspitze (South Peak, 2,712m). The Watzmann massive also includes the Watzmannfrau (Watzmann Wife, also known as Kleiner Watzmann or Small Watzmann), at 2307 m (leftmost peak in image) and the Watzmannkinder (Watzmann Children), five lower peaks in the recess between the main peaks and the Watzmannfrau.

This scenery is exceptional....seems so fresh and tranquil looking across the undulating green landscape, towards the impressive distant mountains. The blue and green work so well together....natural harmony at it's best. The compo and clarity are superb. Very well done.
