Photographer’s Note
At the southern most tip of the Isle of Portland brings you to Portland Bill. A rugged, rocky coastline overlooking the English Channel that's perfect for exploring, walking, or just sitting and watching the waves crashing onto the rocks including the giant Pulpit Rock which extends out into the sea.
This picture was taken just several yards away from Pulpit Rock and looking west as the sun was setting.

Hi Derek, very beautiful photo, attractive with perfect composition, lights and colors. Only the sharpness can be better. ND filter and F10 will be much better.

Hi Derek
Very nice soft feel to the water, and I also like that light hitting the small patch in the water. Moody grey skies compliment the hint of red coming through the sunset with the rocks showing superb shadow detail and sharpness. Weather looks not so good for the summer from this capture?

Your composition is excellent Derek, no doubt about that, only not that sharp for my taste but overall still a good shot.

Hello Derek,
Perfect composition and of course gorgeous light...
The light management is perfect and I like the rendering of the rocks in the foreground.
I just think you could have added some sharpness to get more details in this small version.
Have a nice day.

Hi Derek,
Stunning! The light management and the compo are superb. The long exposition produced a wonderful effect on the sea. And that sky! And those rugged and picturesque rocks on the FG!!! Fabulous!

Hi Derek,
I defiently like the compostion with the rocks in the foreground. Also the blur of the water due to the 1 sec. exposure. But I feel there`s a problem with the foreground sharpness. I bet you didn`t use a ND filter, but nevertheless it`s a great shot in your nice gallery!
Take care
Mark

hello Derek,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition, avec ces grosses pierres au premier plan, et cette superbe vue sur le soleil qui finit de se coucher.
Bonne soirée

Hello Derek!
I like the composition, with the rocks in the foreground enhancing the depth sensation. The sunset is so soft, the ocean is so calm..

Derek,
impressive to see how placing together to rocks in a specific angle and faint sunset colors in the distance can make up a fascinating shot like this. Did you use a ND grad filter here? It seems to me at least. There is a dark line along the upper 1/2 of the image. Sone additional WS to make this less apparent would enhance this view even more.
