Photographer’s Note
Running empty, Interlake Steamship Company's Herbert C. Jackson leaves the busy St. Clair River and enters Lake Huron on its way to Marquette Michigan for a load of taconite ore. Sister ship, the Mesabi Miner, approaches downbound with a load of iron ore from Duluth Minnesota to a steel mill further downstream.
Hundreds of recreational watercraft including sail boats, motor boats and jet skis shared the waterways with these commercial vessels on the last long weekend of summer.

Hi Earl, Welcome to TE. I love this busy waterway scene. The friendly wave to you brings a human aspect to those huge steel ships. Good level horizon and much detail to enjoy. TFS. Murray.
