Photographer’s Note
A Swiss woodpile, in Les Hauderes, Valais region of the Swiss Alps.
Huge piles of wood like these are seen stored under, and around the wooden Swiss houses.
These wood piles feature in almost all the Swiss houses in the Alps - it's the primary heat source during their cold, snowy winters. In Septemper all the woodpiles were well stocked - and the first snows begin to fall.

David,
What a fascinating collection of similar objects, no two the same. The rings are beautifully sharp, there's a nice composition of light and dark, and some of the shadowed edges have come out a lovely blue, the perfect complement for the brown wood.
Well seen.
Winifred
