Photographer’s Note

As a foreigner living in Brasil, I confront stereotypes daily, not only stereotypes I may have about where I live, but stereotypes about where I came from. One stereotype is that of "face," that people in the US (or Brasil, for that matter) are all blond and blue-eyed, etc. I remember shortly after the attacks commercials were aired showing people of various ethnic and racial backgrounds announcing that they, too, are Americans. Brasilian tv has similar commercials. So I present to you a "face" of the American worker.
