Photographer’s Note

Sremski Karlovci,town in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. In 1698–99 the village was the site of a 72-day congress that ended hostilities between the Ottoman Empire and various European states in the Treaty of Carlowitz. By this treaty, the Habsburgs took from the Turks control of the village and the surrounding region of Vojvodina, which was peopled by Serbian refugees from Ottoman rule. The town also was host in 1848 to an assembly of Vojvodina Serbs who declared the region’s independence from Hungarian rule. The surrounding area is noted for its cereals and fodder crops and the fruit farms and vineyards of the Fruška Mountains.

Hello Dejan,
your photo looked very pretty on the thumbnail, but after seen the full size, I think you went too far with the "prettiness". Especially the upper part is obviously overdone - oversaturated and oversharpened. Due to this, noise arose.
Contrary to the sharpened upper half, the bottom part seems to be softened. Again, too much, but is not that bad.
The glassy border is "nice" for Vista, but I don´t think it goes well with such fragile photo. Without the border, the part of the image underneath would improve the composition, which is surely not bad.
I guess it would be good to post the original shot as it was in WS. I doubt it was so bad to undergo such overdone and in my opinion unnecessary postprocessing.

Hi Dejan,
Oh my god what a picture!!
It is unbeleivable capture,just like a painting!
Colours are great,that hill out of the city its like a big tsunami wave that comes to crush on the city.I am dreaming...sorry but it is a dreamed photo!To much talking sometimes is bad!

Jednom recju - prelepo , i kao sto sam vec rekla lepo je videti da se ovakve slike salju na TE .
Vec mi je muka od gledanja slika bede , cigana i pijanica na ovom nasem srpskom podsajtu .

Hello Dejan,

I fully agree with Adrique in that you have made too much postprosessing and you should post the original (or originals?) for workshop. Also you should tell what kind of prosessing you have used.

I like these amazing layers, the transcendental colors and the conrast between sharp silhouettes and the soft misty atmosphere. Dejan, you are really talented. Thank you for this astonishing pic.
