Photographer’s Note

Not every autumn trees become that colorful as it's seen here. But this October weather conditions were right and forests were exceptionally colorful during first two weeks of October. This photo is taken near Kernave. Several mounds of Kernave can bee seen in the distance. Kernave is the first capital of Lithuania. Currently it's an archeological reserve and UNESCO World Heritage site. The first human settlements in Kernave appeared around 11000 years ago. During 12th-14th centuries it was a big well defended town and important trade center. However, it was destroyed in 1390 and never rebuilt. Presently only few defensive mounds remain.
Taken at 16:53 in the afternoon.
Camera settings: 17 mm zoom, AV mode, ISO-200.
Converted from Raw with color temperature set to 4950K. I had to apply quite a lot of shadow and highlight recovery to have some details visible in the bright sky and in the dark shade as well.
