Photographer’s Note
On the eastern end of the most heavily-populated county of Washington State, Mount Si (pr. “Sigh") rises roughly 4,000 feet off the Snoqualmie River valley floor. Mount Si accentuates the beginning of the Cascade Range when traveling east. Its prominence evokes your attention.
This image was taken handheld, no tripod. Exposures were: Mountain; 1/60 second, f/4.0, exposure bias - none, and, sky; 1/160 second, f/4.0, exposure bias -1/3. Common: DSLR, 18-135mm lens set at 26mm's focal length. Polarizer filter was used. Sensitivity: ISO 200. White balance set to auto.

Hello JR,
Welcome to Trekearth. I'm afraid you are going to find this site exceedingly addictive. We appear to share the history of similar equipment — a Miranda, now defunct, and a series of Nikons, and clearly you have a great deal of photographic experience.
This is a beautifully composed shot, with the dramatic contrast of the shadows in the bottom, and the brilliantly illuminated mountains in the background. The texture of the rocks is virtually palpable. Unhappily, I don't have any green smileys left to offer today, but I'll be back.
Warm regards from Virginia,
Bulent

What a lovely beauty. Very much soothing. The golden shine and the blue sky is perfectly in contrast. TFS.

Hello!
It's a wonderul shot. The light is realy incedible.
I like the contrast between the dark and illuminated part of the mountain.
The sky is also beautiful. The colours are great too:)

Hi JR
Lovely light on this mountain and I really like the wispy clouds against the deep blue sky. I would have just slightly cropped some of the shadow on the bottom, leaving out the stray branches.

Hi JR,
Wow, great shot of Mt. Si. The sky here is very good. Good job with colors and contrast here, I think you do an excellent job of capturing the reality of this scene, something that a lot of people fail to do.
Thanks for sharing!
