Photographer’s Note
At the time I am posting it's not Sunday anymore in my time zone, so I am not sure if it qualifies as a papagolfade. Besides that, this a detail of the inside of a church, not a panoramic view as it seems to be usual in papagolfades, so maybe a better pretext for posting it is that the 2nd of November is All Souls' Day or Day of the Dead for the many Christians, a holy day whose celebration in Portugal is often anticipated by one day because the 1st of November (All Saints' Day) is holiday.
This is the tomb of El Tostado (literally The Toasted One, although it is actually the family name of the person). It lies inside the Cathedral of Ávila, behind the major altar. It is the work of the Spanish Renaissance sculptor Vasco de la Zarza [1, 2] and it was built in 1511.
El Tostado, whose name was officially Alonso Fernández de Madrigal (he took the name of the place where he was born instead of his father's), also know as "El Abulense" (abulense is a person from Ávila), was a clergyman who lived in the first half of the 15th century and was the bishop of Ávila in the last two years of his life (1454-1455). He was also an academic that taught in the University of Salamanca, where he gave classes of Art, Moral Philosophy, Poetry and Theology. The vast extent of his written work originated the Spanish saying "escribir más que el Tostado" (to write more than El Tostado), which is applied to someone who writes much.
WS's:
• #1 - Full view of the tomb.
• #2 - Another tomb.

Jose, really what an impressive capture. The details in the carvings is so alive, the light conditions works to the benefit and the angle at which you have taken the photo is amazing. Really, very very impressive!!

Excelente trabalho!

Hello José,
It is a pleasure to sign onto TE when you have just made a post. Surpassing quality in the image. This one is astonishingly detailed, with earthy tones and textures, and shot one week before our historic meeting. I am still so grateful that you made the attempt to come to Barcelona. Obrigado.
Um abraço!

Church interior shots are very challenging as they don't usually allow tripods; in fact many in the UK don't allow cameras either. The detail you have captured is incredible and the exposure perfect. The fuller view in the WS is a good idea for the added information but I prefer this detail. The other WS looks a bit "cold". Did you use the same WB settings? Or maybe the light wasn't as warm as it was on this tomb.

Hello Jose,
Effective framing and excellent details!
The colours are well reproduced and the angle of light results in fine 3-D effect in the reliefs...
Tight framing and a fine composition!

Ola Jose,
A good upwards POV with the FG statue standing out nicely on the BG. The gret sharpness allows us to appreciaate the many details in there.
Good note too (I suppose Avila is the place of Sta Teresa de Avila?)
