Photographer’s Note
or more correct Master Mikaels gata. Master Mikael is one of the most famous of Stockholms hangmen. In 1650, he himself had to walk up the gallows mountain as condemned to death. Under a boozing night he had killed his drinking-companion after some quarrel about some money. He lived in this street 1635-50, but unfortunately there was a big fire here 1735. Most of the older houses was ruined, but rebuilt some years later.

Hej Boa,
quite a sombre, almost sinister-looking sett paving! I guess it's because of the low POV and the light of the street lamps in the distance.
I wonder if we cuold transfer ourselves through the time and ages back to the past to see how all this was so long ago.
This street with the rows of houses along both sides of it would really look timeless and as if the photo was taken hundreds of years ago if it were not for the modern street lamps :) Medieval times were rather dark times!
I like the "medieval" mood... and the note is interesting. I did not know such details! but how can I?...
bästa hälsningar,
Elena
