Intro: Hello everybody!My name is Hercules Milas (" Ηρακλής Μήλας " in greek), I am 37 years old, i am a greek journalist and photographer (started taking photos on March 2005).

I was born "accidentally" in Serres, a town in Macedonia, Northern Greece (my father was doing his 2-year military service there) but I come from Crete. I grew up in Ierapetra, a small town to the south of the island, right by the Libyan Sea and I stayed there till my 18 years, when I passed the exams for the Technical Universtity of Athens ("Εθνικό Μετσόβειο Πολυτεχνείο"= "Ethniko Metsoveio Polytehneio"). So, since 1990, I live in Athens, but I visit my beloved Crete, my family and friends, as often as I can. After my studies as Civil Engineer, I continued studies in journalism. During my years in the Univercity I did a whole lot of diferent jobs, mainly worked as a bartender and dj, but also as a worker in factories and a builder in construction business.

Since 1997 I started working as a journalist, in a newspaper and until 2005 as a reporter for some of the major greek TV networks (MEGA CHANNEL, ALPHA CHANNEL, ALTER), with a break of 2 years (2000-2002) for my military service. From March 2005 I started working as Editor in Chief for a travel magazine ("Traveller's Icons") and that's when my "relationship" with photography started. Since March 2008 I work as Editor in Chief in "Explore Nature" magazine that goes public, the penultimate Saturday of every month, as a suplement of the national daily newspaper "ETHNOS".

I never expected that photography would become such a great passion for me, it really changed my life. I also never expected that Trekearth would become such a great addiction. I speak and write in Greek (of course!), English and Spanish. I understand a little bit of Italian, French and Portuguese.

At first, I had gathered here my photos that we were chosen as favourites by at least 3 members. When they reached the 100, I thought about creating a "Pt 2" theme, but then again it wouldn't serve the purpose of a fast introduction to my gallery. So I kept only the photos that are favorites of 4 members or more(77, so far). There are 322 more photos chosen as favorites by 1,2 or 3 members, a total of 399 favorites.
