- After more than three years on TE, I think it is the highest time for new intro...When I have registered on TE, back in 2006, I started to upload photos, proudly and self-consciously, from my first 3,2 mpx compact (yes, yes), presuming that they are amazing and superb and expecting only words of praise.
Few months later, cured from my smug and self-complacent disease, I started to look at mine and yours photos a little differently...I realized how little I was able to see and being on TE, even if painful for my pride in the beginnings, gradually taught me much about the strange and mysterious world of photography.
Another months later, I found out that your criticism is one of two things, that helped me to learn and see...and another thing? Your photos, of course.
Time came, when I realized that however I might try, I would not do much with my little compact so I proceeded to better one...and now, after three years here I finally decided to buy the Canon 450 D and start to learn real photography ;-) still looking for that “my thing” in photography, which I haven´t found yet, but that does not matter, because I enjoy it so much anyway...

Born 1981, I live, at least for the time being, in Zilina, Slovakia, where I was born. I work in the field of immunohaematology and as a freelance translator.
I am not professional, photography is just my relax...and what a relax it is! Forgetting the little trivialities and problems, and focusing on the world around, on the light and atmosphere, looking for the right place and angle…and suddenly you realize how much you can see around yourself, all the small details you haven´t noticed before…Every time, when I see a photo, I say to myself - there must have been someone, exactly at this time and this place, to take this shot...
Sometimes, you can even feel the atmosphere through the photograph, the cold morning air, sleepiness of the sunny afternoon; you can smell the sweet air in some forgotten valley... Photograph has the power to capture and petrify a moment in certain time and certain place. It is one of the most beautiful types of memory, but with one amazing advantage - you can share it.
