I think the original image of Peter is real scene from the plane, but just made it clearer!
1. level adjusted.
2. gaussian blur on the sky (2.4).
3. unsharpmask (480%, 0.2, 0).
4. added white frame.
5. removed the noise through NeatImage(50%, 25%, 10%).

Hi Peter,

I cropped around 25% off the top and did a minor adjustment in brightness (+10) and contrast (-10), to keep the aircraft "balanced".

Then I ran it through NeatImage in order to "smooth" and bring out the cloud formations.

This picture brings me flashback from my visit to Komamoto and this garden that represent Japan with the Fujisan mountain replica in the center.
My memory is from a much brighter day with blew sky so I changed the color of the sky, increased saturation and unsharped 1.4/90%
I hope that you'll like it.

Hi Peter,

I hope you don't mind my doing this again:
1) Ran Autolevel in PhotoShop7.
2) Sharpened and faded it to 50%.
3) Saved for Web <200kB.
That's all!

Hi Peter,

I couldn't stop myself from trying, as suggested in the second alternative:
I rotated the picture 1.5°CW, to straighten the downpipe.
Then I cropped along the middle and also a bit on top, to the right and at the bottom - for the composition.
Then I sharpened, added a thin frame (I used color from the grey in the branch) and saved just <200kB.
Hopefully you'll think, that I did your photo justice.

All I did was:
1) Image/Adjustments/Auto Levels
2) Filter/Sharpen
3) Save for Web (just below 200kB)

You can go further (like this WS) if you like - it's only a matter of how true to the real world you like to be...

Ran auto-levels to increase contrast and make photo look "clearer." Selected the sky and applied a gaussian blur to remove grain (it'd probably better to run Neat Image on the whole shot). Selected the white cap and sharpened just a tad more.

First of all, thanks for allowing a workshop!
ok, what I've done is darken the photo, and increase the contrast slightly. Then in Photoshop I used the Dodge tool on the really harsh areas. The Dodge tool will darken the highlighted areas. I really hope this workshop helps!
