| Présentation: | 24 March 2008 update after one year on Trekearth all I have to say is that I am incredibly lucky girl. - I am lucky to have discovered photography that taught me to look for and see things that otherwise I would have missed. - I am lucky to have found this website. not only I feel that all the comments I wrote and all the suggestions I received in turn improved my skills considerably, not only I have learned a great deal about places I have never been to - more importantly, I have met people that I admire and respect, and every day I eagerly check if I have new messages from them. but above all, I am lucky to have another TE member, travel and photography enthusiast zmey by my side (blame him for this, this and this photo). my very own TOP 10 things (besides photography and travel) 1. deserts my Grand Plan is to visit all of the Earth's deserts in this life (modest, am I?), we started with Sahara in February of 2006; 2. books I read a lot and all kind of books, including sci-fi (Orson Scott Card is my favourite), fantasy (Terry Pratchett), detective stories (Russian author Aleksandra Marinina is what I read most), history (even without realising what I'm doing I've gathered a nice little collection of books about women in history). come to think of that, the only thing I don't read are "romance stories". no need. 3. languages Latvian is my native language, and I consider myself fluent in Russian and English (although writing in Russian is quite a struggle). as far as French and Spanish are concerned, I am like one of those smart German shepherd dogs - I understand everything you say and will do everything you ask me to, provided it makes sense to me, but I cannot respond. I'm working on that right now, so I appreciate comments in both French and Spanish, but even more I appreciate patience of those who have to read what I try to write in these languages. ...
