| Présentation: | Hi there, Whilst I have always been keen on taking snaps, over the last couple of years, I have really become inspired to look more at the type and style of photographic images I am taking. I had a Kodak point-and-shoot digital camera but recently spent two weeks in Kenya and earlier this year decided that the cost of purchasing a Digital SLR could, in fact, be justified. After much (and I mean a LOT!) deliberation, I decided to go with Canon over Nikon and purchased a Eos 400D with a standard 18-55m lens. Knowing a good safari was also on the horizon, I also went for a Tamron 55-200mm lens and I am REALLY glad that I did. During 2007, I set myself a target of taking 50 photos I was happy with each month. I remained focussed (no pun intended) and was successful in achieving this target - thanks in part to two stunning weeks in Kenya - and really gained a lot from the process. I enjoyed the challenge of it all, and came away with some great shots of architecture, wildlife, landscapes and the like. When it comes to my style of photography, I am happier in an abstract or land-/sea-scape field and would like to know what people think of the images that I have taken and am pleased with. I am not that confident with taking portraits (and the idea of doing wedding photography scares me silly!), but am keen to take on board any advice that fellow photographers can give.
