| Présentation: | Points to consider while out there shooting nature and landscape: 1- Rules are to be followed, but also to be broken, otherwise nothing new is being created. 2- Depth of feeling is far more important than depth of field. 3- Finding a composition is not difficult. The art lays in waiting for the right moment to get the desired light and color conditions. 4- Perhaps one of the greatest joys that I learned during this year, is to see the light on the landscape - seeing its daily cycles change with each season and shift with each day’s weather. 5- Success stems from hard work and practice. Keep the shutter and the posting going on. 6- Keep it simple. It isn’t your camera, gadgets, software that will make a great photography. It’s only you. Photography is less about hardware and more about headware. 7- It is important to slow down and look. Cameras can take pictures, but it takes a photographer to make a photograph. 8- You never will run out of learning something new every single day. 9- TE is about exchange of knowledge, mutual respect, friendship. 10- Try always to get together with other TE members. This will be the moment that you will have the greatest fun and learn most (list of TE members that I met so far. My intro picture was shot by annikon). Ansel Adams at its best: “Landscape photography is the supreme test of photographers – and often the supreme disappointment.” "Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art. Therefore emphasis on technique is justified only so far as it will simplify and clarify the statement of the photographer's concept." "Photograph not only what you see but what you feel." "You don't take a photograph, you make it." Some of my photographic themes: 1) Western Sierra Nevada 2) Yosemite National Park 3) Eastern Sierra Nevada 4) Your 3+ favorites 5) TE-itis or the joy of meeting TE members My next trips: 1. Montana and Wyoming, Summer 2008 2. High Sierra Nevada (California), Summer 2008 3. Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks (Canada), 08/22 - 08/31/08 4. Maine 10/08 5. Brazil and Argentina, 02/2009 6. Whenever a vacant weekend: any special place in California. I would love to meet TE members during such moments. Feel free to contact me! | |
