- Dear all photographs friends,
I live in Vietnam from 1999...up to now. I spent 6 years in Ho Chi Minh City (before 1975 well known as Saigon) in South of Vietnam and 2 years in Hanoi, the capital in North. I'm now based in Hoi An from March 2008, in the Center of Vietnam. Thanks to my job, I have the opportunity to discover many-sides of the Vietnamese culture, ethnics, habits, landscapes.... from south to north.
I'm French/Vietnamese from France and in 1999 I decided to come to Vietnam... to start new experience there....
First time I came to Vietnam it was in 1983, at 9 years old to meet my father's family in Saigon. When I was child, my father always talk to me about the Vietnam and my family and I was so excited when the plane landing on Saigon airport and I get down from plane: "typical" odor, humidity, hot, never-ending customs procedures, and platform on the top of airport with so many people with umbrellas to say "last" good bye for their family who is leaving the country or welcome families or few tourists who are arriving the country.
Finally, my father, brother and I taken the bus to the family's house... It was so emotional and so strong that I will never forget the moment I knock the door at my house grandparent's...and then they open the door with tears of emotion and joy...
My grandparents and almost of uncles and taunts are still living in Ho Chi Minh City....
