Srefidensi : It means "Independence" in “Sranan Tongo” language.

Suriname is celebrating their Independence after Dutch colonization after many centuries at 25 November 1975.

Leonsberg : Small location that located at northern part of Paramaribo. Closer to the Atlantic Ocean and at the beginning of beautiful Suriname River’s big mouth.

Leonsberg is a Dutch name. “Berg” means “hill” in English. It means the part of this area is “Leon’s Hill” May be there was a lot of “Dutch Leon” who were protecting the Paramaribo (capital city of Suriname) during colonization period ;)

By the effect of Amazon rain forest a lot houses build from wood in Suriname. Wooden houses need more maintenance and some times ruin houses still have nicely colored window wings.
