Ghats of Ganges are perhaps the holiest spots of Varanasi. They are almost always full of pilgrims who flock to the place to take a dip in the holy Ganges, which is believed to absolve one from all sins. Each of the eighty-four Ghats of Varanasi holds some special significance.

Kumbh Mela known as the largest religious gathering in the world is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage. The fair ground takes the shape of mini India. Different types of language, tradition-culture, dress, food, way of living can be witnessed in this festival where millions of people reach without any invitation.
This year the Ardh Kumbh Mela which began on 3rd January is being held at Allahabad. Over the next five weeks 70 million devotees is expected to take the holy bath at Prayag.

India is a country of diverse culture, traditions and religions, a country where we find Unity among Diversity. India is home to Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism and several other religious traditions. I had done a mini series on the Secular Structure of India and was overwhelmed with the response it evoked. Through this Theme I hope others can contribute on religions I have been unable to cover as well as those I have.
