Benaras - A Photographic Lesson by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2009-02-18 - 2009-02-22
My first visit to this venerated city. The Benaras trip was a crossroad trip for me if I may say…in the photography sense, here was a place where the abundant photo opportunities lie not in temples or architecture, but of activities of daily life, an aspect I had not explored much till date perhaps because of my perceived lack of skills in this area. But I enjoyed photography here and at the end wished I had a few more days in hand (and some memory cards). ... (full story) (6 photos)

Rajasthan, The Circuit Lesser Known by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2008-10-27 - 2008-11-02
Off the normal touristic circuit and places of Rajasthan, towards the southeast, are the state's least explored regions. It is a region that is full of great historical towns with a proud heritage dating back several centuries. We ventured to this area, making the town of Kota as our base. Amazing forts and locations in Bhainsrorgarh, Bundi & Gagron, Temples and natural beauty crafted by the serene river Chambal...this area is terribly neglected as far as tourism is concerned. To be surely visited to appreciated more... ... (full story) (18 photos)

My first trip to Agra & Fatehpur Sikri with a camera. The chill, the fog were the positives, the crowd in the holiday season a downer. (13 photos)

Where 'The Tales of The Arabian Nights' Come To Life.
It's the magic of the Desert here, but there's more. A Fort which is perhaps the world's only Living Fort, lavishly carved Havelis, a lake within the Desert City like an oasis & deserted villages sprinkled around the city. This is my humble tribute to this amazing place. (35 photos)

From Budelkhand to Princely Gwalior by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2007-12-22 - 2007-12-27
Bundelkhand is a geographic region of central India. The region is divided between the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with the larger portion lying in Madhya Pradesh.
A very dry area, the surface of the country is uneven and hilly. The name Bundelkhand originated from the Rajput clan - the Bundelas, whose origin is obscure, & who emerged into prominence in the 14th century.
Our destinations :
Orchha
Deogarh
Datia
Gwalior ... (full story) (43 photos)

Himachal Pradesh - The Land of Gods by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2007-10-13 - 2007-10-18
We covered the Dhauladhar Circuit, which derives its name from the Dhauladhar peaks of Western Himalaya. It passes in the shadow of the mighty and majestic snow clad Dhauldhar ranges, which dominates the beautiful Kangra valley, dotted by flower filled meadows, temples, tea gardens and flocks of sheep.
We covered Kangra - Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Chamba - Dharamsala - McLeodgunj - Masroor in our 5 day trip. (20 photos)

Bali - The Island of Gods by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2006-07-15 - 2006-07-21
They call Bali, Paradise on Earth...and aptly so. Though it's only a small island, Bali offers the traveller a fantastic variety of everything. Volcanoes (2 of them), Rice Terraces, Sea, Black sand & white Beaches, surfing, amazing temples, a deep rooted culture, wonderful art forms..the list goes on and on. With only 7 days in hand, we just scratched the surface. Maybe one day we'll go back again.
Through my photographs, I'll try to show the Bali experience as I saw and felt through my eyes & my camera. ... (full story) (79 photos)

Siem Reap (Angkor), Luan Prabang & Ayutthaya. It was an experience I do not have words to describe. Angkor,Luang Prabang and Ayutthaya all carry legacies of India. Hindu kings built Angkor while Buddhist architecture, which has shaped Luang Prabang & Ayutthaya, have their roots in India. And the people in both places acknowledge that. It is on seeing these amazing works of art and culture in distant countries that I felt what a great country I belong to, and that I was proud to be an Indian. ... (full story) (71 photos)

Lepakshi - A beauty less known by Angshuman Chatterjee
(33963) 2006-04-09 - 2006-04-09
It's a long and winding journey to Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh, about 15 km from Hindupur. It was a revitalising trip for yours truly who believes in heritage sites and marvel at the art of our ancestors, and willing to get away from the routine multiple-destination tourist routes. (28 photos)
