We went to Cornwall, where we rented a cottage for a week at Mevagissey. We probably had one of the best weeks of the year with plenty of sun. We walked on the Southwest Coast Path and visited The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the Eden Project. (8 photos)

Isle of Skye, Scottish Highlands by Kath Featherstone
(49872) 2009-04-25 - 2009-05-03
The Isle of Skye is a Scottish island in the Highlands connected to the mainland by a bridge. We went there for a week at the end of April. We decided to take two days to travel home and took time to drive through Glencoe and Rannoch Moor unfortunately mostly in the rain. After staying overnight in Callander we visited the Bracklinn Falls and Balquhidder where Rob Roy is buried, before setting off home. (10 photos)

This travelogue covers two weeks in Thailand, including exploring the temples and palaces of historical Siam’s capital cities of Sukhothai, and Ayutthaya, as well as the current capital, Bangkok. We also spent time at some of the WWII history, in particular the building of the Death Railway and its tragic results. Staying in raft houses on the River Kwai was a unique experience.
Finally we went to the island of Koh Samet for a few days relaxation before returning home. (9 photos)

We chose to go in January as that is the time the annual migration reaches the Serengeti plains.
After the tiring but amazing safaris, we flew for some R&R in Zanzibar. (34 photos)

Autumn Visit to Scotland by Kath Featherstone
(49872) 2007-11-04 - 2007-11-09
We went to Scotland for an autumn break and stayed in the small town of Blair Atholl about 7 miles north of the town of Pitlochry. The county was Perthshire until they rearranged the boundaries in 1975. It is now called Perth & Kinross. It is roughly right in the centre of Scotland. Just around Pitlochry the Scottish Highlands begin. It was the first time we have visited this part of Scotland. We found it to be stunningly beautiful and it won’t be our last visit. (13 photos)

A Short Break in Prague by Kath Featherstone
(49872) 2007-09-24 - 2007-09-27
We decided to have a short city break in Prague. The weather was glorious when we arrived on the Monday: Tuesday the rains came down and we were soaked: Wednesday was dull but fine: Thursday rained again, although we left at mid-day.
It is deservedly a popular city to visit as the architecture is beautiful. What intrigued me was the streets were crowded with tourists most of the time but there was no difficulty getting a meal anywhere. (10 photos)

Two Days in the Yorkshire Dales by Kath Featherstone
(49872) 2006-06-26 - 2006-06-27
North Yorkshire has two National Parks; the Dales in the West and the Moors near where I live in the East. (I have a theme on the North Yorkshire Moors) It’s only about 1¾ hours from home, but when we went to the Yorkshire Dales we decided to stay overnight and have two full days there, so we had more time for walking instead of driving.
