As part of a photography course in Atelie da Imagem, I took a weekend trip to Ouro Preto, one of the historic towns of Minas Gerais (General Mills) state, during Easter week.
In Brazil's colonial time, Minas Gerais was a big gold producer. Being Portugal, and consequently Brazil, a very catholic country, several churchs were built. As a very religious population followed , religious celebrations became very popular in Brazil.
In those festivities, one can see how common people participate in the celabrations in a very proud manner. ... (full story) (10 photos)

Aiuruoca - Minas Gerais by Joel Kos

A trip to Aiuruoca in Minas Gerais state, at an altitude of 1.900 m. Probably the highest B&B (http://www.doladodela.com.br/) in Brazil. You can only get there with a 4X4 vehicle and there is no electricity. But the running water is fresh! In three days, we made excelent walks. One day to get there, one day to a waterfall, another day to a mountain top. (3 photos)
