A trip with lots of music, mansions and history.

Musical highlights included the Allman Brothers Band Museum (Macon, Georgia), the Hank Williams Museum (Montgomery, Alabama) and the graves of Blind Willie McTell, Sonny Boy Williamson and Memphis Minnie. A highly personal selection.

But we also enjoyed the many historical houses, mansions and plantations we visited. A bit of nature too, as we travelled in the Great Smoky Mountains (mainly by car) and along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi.

Biggest plus is the people (as usual on our trips). We are not religious and no big fans of the current American presidency either, so we were afraid of being dragged into awkward conversations. But there was absolutely no need for that. We found the southeners very kind, polite and courteous.

More, a lot more in my (Dutch) travel report.
