Photographer’s Note
Until the earthquake of 1692 Port Royal was the Capitol of English Jamaica. Several monuments of which this fort Charles is the biggest. Port Royal had a bad reputation until 1687, because of the many pirates that were tolerated here because the Gouvernor had not enough men to defend the city. Henri Morgan, Rock de Brasilian, Blackbeard and others were regular visitors.
In 1687 an anti-pirate agreement changed that and Caligo Jack was even hanged here.

Dag Gerrit,
The POV very well selecetd give a greta prospect to the image. Good framing too with the palmtree on the right. The warm colors of the fort and of the vegetation arise very well under this sky with a beautiful blue.
Have a nice day,
Roger

The place has an interesting anad infamous history. Well framed shot of the old fort with the modern attachment. Your POV which also includes the palm was a good choice.

Hello Gerrit,
The azure blue sky makes a splendid backdrop for the old fort. I like also the presence of the palm tree, which creates a good sense of depth. Good tonal contrasts and excellent sharpness.

Hi Gerrit
A nice simple composition withthe palm balancing out the tower. I have to admit the tower looks out of place with the wooden siding. Its probably been replaced a few times since 1687.
Cheers

Hi Gerrit,
I like a lot the intense colors of this photo. It's very suitable to the scene. The tree shares well the view with the fort. Great job!

Hallo Gerrit,
Heb je nog kunnen achterhalen of de Vliegende Hollander hier ook nog langs is gekomen?
Mooie zonnige foto, maar het uitkijkhuisje is me iets te modern geschilderd in verhouding tot de oude muur.

Hi Gerrit,
Beautiful example of a colonial fort that provided protection from those nasty pirates.
Love the old brick against the vivid blue sky that contrast so nicely with the tropical palms.

Hi Gerrit
Intéressante histoire de ce lieu, un contraste du bâtiment moderne avec les vielles pierres du fort, bien cadrer avec le palmier et une très belle lumière
