Photographer’s Note

At first it looks like something out of a space movie. In fact this is the transportation system for tourists underneath the Yangtze river between the Bund and Pudong. The tunnel comprises of a mixture different visual displays, while your travelling in a little glass carridge. Try and wait for your own carridge rather than cramping in with 20 other tourists.

First of all, a correction: the river passing between the Bund or more in general Puxi and Pudong is not the Yangze (or Changjiang) but the Huangpu (and therefore the names of Puxi and Pudong, West Pu and East Pu). The Yangze passes in the north of Shanghai in Baoshan District, and this Huangpu is just one of its 'branches'.

Regarding this photo, well, I never passed there, and the image you give here makes it almost surrealistic. The colours in the tunel indeed create the feeling of passing through a black hole in outer space like in space movies
