Photographer’s Note

Kiyomizu-dera temple is perhaps the most beloved of Kyoto and is a fixture in the minds of the Japanese people.

For centuries visitors and pilgrims have climbed the cobbled streets to the temple, which stands prominently on a steep hillside with fine views of the city. Supported in part by 139 pillars, the temple juts out over the valley.

Built in 788, the original temple predates Kyoto by six years. The current structure dates from 1633 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

The palette of soft pastels contrast so beautiful with the dark and golden tones of the night. Excellent presentation of the temple.

Des couleurs tout à fait saissisantes ! Je regrette la grande partie ce temple dans l'ombre mais la tour illuminée à l'architecture typique est réellement de toute beautée. A tel point que si tu avais une photographie plus serrée en format verticale de cette partie, je pense qu'il faudrait absolument la poster !
Le ciel qui accompagne ce paysage est superbe !

The evening ambience is splendid with various parts of the temple and foilage surrounding it illuminted in the warmth of the lights. And then you have the cool colours of the sky in beautiful shades to compliment the mood. Well composed and great view point.
