Photographer’s Note

Any regime that has based in force sooner or later has is end.
The human being in our time has to change their way to view the world.
Stop looking back to the nature, and really see that Earth is the only home that we have. Stop distroing ourselves and changing our livestyle.
The stress, the pollution, the war, the repression only gives us one path.... the end!
sorry....i have carried away with my thoughts...lol The pic is very beautifull!

Hi Bertrand, here you captured a curious moment, with the three legs up, but the colours are a bit pale. I have tried a workshop for you, I hope you like it. Best regards.

Maybe your scanner is to blame, but this image lacks contrast (there's no black at all if you look at the histogram) and there too much blue (the soldiers' coats are grey in reality). Fortunately, this can be easily corrected see my workshop.
Just for your information - Lenin's body is still there.

Hi Bertrand,
Great timing, they've got their legs in a perfect position for this photo, and their grouping is also nice. The hard shapes of the structure in the background (maosoleum?) match the guards well.

This is really something from the past. The composition is very well made considering the moving soldiers. The line of the Kremlin wall, the Mausoleum and the soldiers all line up well. And the soldiers also add scale showing how massive the buildings behind are. There is nice detail in this photo, in the stone and in the soldiers coats. The ground is really over exposed, though. And as was mentioned the lack of black, almost like a color cast over it. But it sure is a great capture of a sight from what seems like so long ago, now.

Hi Bertrand, a true blast from the past. I love the subject. I think there is a bit too much white. I would crop off the sky and try to leave the red background and soldiers, and do some levels. Regards Daniel

A very interesting and historical image. It’s a pity the overexposed sky but I believe the light conditions should have been hard. Very good capture of their movement.

Great shot of the 3 gaurds, though I feel that maybe cropping some of the over exposed sky would be good, great shot anyway.

Good moment caught! I always admired those people who can march so synchronically. They are very well trained there, on the Red Square.
Answering your question: yes, Lenin is still there and it is very impressive inside. I've been there in 1979. Irina

Hello Bertrand
In 1986 I was only 10-years old. We liked to go to Red Square and watch relieving the guard.
This image memorizes me my childhood.
Thank you for sharing!
And Merry Christmas!
