Photographer’s Note

L'homme dans la porte n'a pas achevé son passage.
Il traverse les arches comme on affronte des épreuves.
Il passe des zones sombres et des puits de lumière.
Il avance droit pour ne pas se distraire.
La couleur des murs est rouge comme le sang.
Le métal sur le bois pourrait lui transpercer les chairs.
Il y a partout dans la vie des obstacles, des tentations et des chemins de travers.

Mais l'homme dans la porte n'a pas achevé son passage.
Alors, il avance droit.

The man in the door did not complete his passage.
He crosses the arches as tests are faced.
He passes from the dark zones and the wells of light. He advances right not to distract himself.
The color of the walls is red like blood.
Metal on wood could transpierce the flesh to him. There are everywhere in the life, obstacles, temptations and wrong ways.

But the man in the door did not complete his passage. Then, he advances straight.

Ces enfilades des portes donne un très bel effet, renforcé par la décoration en rouge et blanc.
La lumière est aussi très bonne et comme la cour est baignée par cette lumière.
L'homme est aussi bien placé.
Un tout petit truc, il me semble que la photo est un tout petit peu penchée.

Very nice composition with the repeated patterns of the archways giving a good sense of perspective. I like the inclusion of the guy for scale, and the patterns of light and shade. The spikes on the doors look a bit scary though.

Bien vu cet alignement de portes avec de teintes en dégradé et ce personnage solitaire placé juste au bon endroit. Les pointes sur les portes au premier plan ne sont pas très accueillantes!

Hi Bertrand, A nice perspective view along the layers of the gates. Good light contrast and you have well placed the person under the highlight. The spikes on the door in the foreground looks strangely funny.

Cadre a l'interieur de cadre, ca pourrait etre une allegorie pour la photographie meme, Bertrand. Tres bien vu et cadre celle-ci, avec beaucoup de discipline. Les couleurs aussi sont "top".
Le Sri Lanka sera un simple voyage ou du "travail"?

here the human element would have either been used in a vertical canvas or should have been not placed in the center...as such the composition is not at its best I think...
