Photographer’s Note

Dans les champs de thé, le soleil est violent et peut bruler les feuilles.
Alors, on a planté des grands parasols qui filtrent la lumière. Ils émergent des tapis de moquette.
Ils donnent au paysage un relief qui contraste avec les champs, taillés au centimètre.

Les cueilleuses de thé cherchent un chemin dans ce décors de rêve. Elle portent de lourdes charges pour des salaires de misère.

In the fields of tea, the sun is violent and can burn the sheets.
Then, one planted large parasols which filter the light.
They emergent of the fitted carpets.
They give to the landscape a relief which contrasts with the fields, cut with the centimetre.
The workers of tea look for a way in this landscape of dream. They carry heavy loads for starvation wages.

Yes, the trees really looks like parasols! I really like the composition here, with two different slopes captured, at two symmetric angles, and the rock makes for a nice background. The figures of people enliven the scene. Excellent picture!

Bertrand, looking at these beautiful fields of tea it is hard to believe that they are trodden by the downtrodden as they work for subsistence wages picking the tea. This is a lovely shot with a nice sloping bright green field, a finely detailed tree of some delicacy and an imposing rock in the background. I like the fact that the human figures are so small, assuming the insignificance to which their conditions and wages condemn them on the one hand, and dwarfed by the environment on the other. Very good sharpness (not overdone) and colour in a fine composition.

The large tree is endowed with so much character that it works to centre it here, as if the ground below is its fiefdom. I like the slope int he foreground angling upward and the distant view of the workers. The hills provide stability and a secondary field of interest. A most interesting scene and a succinct but educational note.

Que c'est beau tout cela ! Je me demandais si ces arbres étaient des pins parasols, et to commentaire nous l'a affirmé. Je suis sûr que tu devrais avoir certaines photos avec des femmes prises de plus près. Mais celle-ci déjà est un petit bijou !

Cette image est très réussie. J'aurais presque décalé l'arbre pour montrer encore plus la pente de cette colline.
Un peu comme ta photo précédente.
Mais les couleurs sont fantastiques et le fait que l'on voit les cueilleurs de thé donne beaucoup de vie à l'image.
Bien vu.

A more closer view on the tea fileds with the working people in it would be highley appreciated. But on the other hand a beautiful tree in a beautiful landscape is also highly appreciated ;-)

I captured some lonely trees in my series of the "yellow" Alentejo and immediately remembered you.
I love these trees (Acacia, I supposed), which remind me Kenya. Marvellous green photo, with good depth. I love the effect of the leaves in right foreground. Your POV is excellent.

De nouveau ce mot'Misère'enfin soite.(Je t'ai renvoyer mon mail que tu n'avais pas reçu).Pour la photo présenté ici c'est une belle image bien sur de ce magnifique paysage avec une bonne note personnel bien à toi.
Pour le plaisir de tout le monde,mais je constate que ton retour est toujours un éclat sur TE...:-).L'éclat à été moins important hier soir dans la finale,on ne sais pas être bon dans tout les domaines...mais bon..!

Un arbre magnifique, dans un superbe paysage. La comparaison avec un parasol est trés bienvenue, mais à quoi comparer ce moutonnement de verdure plus tendre que sont les champs de thé. Je suppose que les petits personnages qu'on aperçoit dans la partie gauche sont des cultivateurs. Leur taille minuscule rend encore plus magique ce paysage. Bien évidemment, excellentes couleurs et netteté.

Merci pour ton partage, car là il y a comme un petit coin e paradis terrestre (peut être pas pour les cultivateurs, à la réflexion).

I must have been blind not to look at this wonderful picture earlier despite your hint. Thanks to Sebastien (sebinho342) for pointing this out to me. Tea gardens for their velvet like slopes are a personal favourite and I have some images from the tea gardens in Darjeeling. But this shade tree here is uniquely different from the ones we find in the Darjeeling hils. Probably the equatorial climate is the reason behind it. Wonderful capture this, more like a signature stamp of yours with no flamboyancy, just the minimalist effects. Like always a pleasure visting your gallery and an honour adding you to my favourites.

Its just a picture of a tree, but what a tree! It has quite an unusual shape to it, it looks quite alien to my European eyes.
I think your composition is excellent, and the colours are nice and saturated. My one small criticism is that the tea leaves in the foreground aren't that sharp compared to the rest of the scene. A smaller aperture would have sorted this.
However this is a very minor detail and it doesn't really detract from your shot.

"Pureté" aurait pu être un titre pour cette image. Des pentes douces et bien définies sur lesquelles poussent les grands parasols et les plants de thé, Un camaieux de vert végétal et de bleu céléste, des gens qui travaillent au loin, tels de laborieuses fourmis... Et toute cette scene, simple et épurée, éclairée par la plus belle des lumières dans une atmosphere cristalline.
C'est superbe.

Fantastic landscape with wonderful colors. The three in the middle takes a lot of frame. I prefered to see these people working better than the three. But it's a great picture that makes me dream if i could visit this country. Good work.
