Photographer’s Note

Jour de cérémonie dans la plantation.
On pose la première pierre du dispensaire.
Les jeunes danseuses sont prêtes.
Gracieuses comme des princesses qui viendraient d'être élues, elle n'ont pas encore l'habitude.
Elles cachent leur timidité.
Elles attendent la fin des discours.
Elles ajustent leurs bijoux.
Elle se retournent pour regarder l'étranger.
Elles le trouvent drôle.
Alors, oubliant le protocole et la danse, elles rient comme des enfants.

Day of ceremony in the plantation.
The first stone of the dispensary is posed.
The young dancers are ready.
Gracious as princesses who have been just elected, they do not have the practice yet.
They hide their timidity.
They await the end of the speeches.
They adjust their jewels.
They are turned over to look at the foreigner.
They find him funny.
Then, forgetting the protocol and the dance, they laugh like children.

De plus en plus fort, une symetrie imparfaite mais réelle avec deux femmes remarquables. J'aime bien ces sourires et ces yeux, une belle gestion de la profondeur aussi.

A lovely 'dual-portrait'. The DOF setting is good with the right amount of blur. And I like their stares very much, accompanied by those beautiful colours and textures of the gold and clothes. Pleasant documentary pic, gd job.

My cousin spent 12 years in Malawi building a health care system. As part of it, they helped to develop a water system since they decided that the people could never be healthy without a safe water system.

C'est vraiment une série d'images de toute beauté que tu as faite dans cette plantation de thé au Sri Lanka! Ici, c'est un très beau double portrait de ces danseuses dans leurs costumes colorés. Ta PDC est parfaite, mettant en valeur une des filles, mais permettant néanmoins de montrer le regard moqueur de la deuxième. J'adore!

Quelle belle photo, à des km de la carte postale pour touristes.

Salut Bertrand, quelle paire de regards ! C'est vraiment un délice cette photo, on a l'impression de voyager rien qu'a la regarder, on est transpercé par ces regards noirs et tellement intenses, c'est du très grand art et elle me fait penser a une photo de maciekda prise en inde par contre.
Les couleurs sont une pure merveille, les bijoux et décoration rajoutent encore une petite pointe d'exotisme, une très grande photo :))

Belle photo de ces jeunes danceuses, timides, jeunes mais bien jolies. Votre note nous explique bien comme d' habitude de quoi il sagit,que ces jeunes sont curieuses et amusées par l' étranger, prenons en de la graine chez nous, si nous étions curieux et amusé par les étrangers, peutb etre y aurais t il moins de racisme.Bien vu bien pris,bien expliqué.
