Photographer’s Note

Tous ensemble, les sternes se tiennent chaud.
Elles affrontent le vent.
Elle marchent sur l'eau.
Elle se regardent et se parlent.
Elles s'imitent pour se rassurer.
Elles cherchent le soleil qui va sécher leur plumage.

Le lac Ratgama est une immense mangrove. Juste derrière la plage, c'est aussi un estuaire. La faune y est très riche. On peut s'y promener en barque et retrouver une nature vierge qui a sû se reconstruire après les dommages du Tsunami.

All together, the Sterns are held hot.
They face the wind.
They walk on the water.
They are looked around and they speak together.
They are imitated to be reassured.
They seek the sun which will dry their plumage.

The lake Ratgama is an immense mangrove.
Just behind the beach, it is also an estuary.
Fauna is very rich there. One can there walk by boat and find a virgin nature which has rebuilt after the damage of the Tsunami.

a nice image, indeed. Like Sabyasachi said it's cool that they look all in the same direction. What are they looking for? I like their scomb. Specially the 3rd one from the right side. A simple, but very nice composition with excellent colours.

Helle Bertrand,
ces oiseaux regardent souvent dans la même direction, face aux vents, j'ai eu l'occasion de les photographier quelques fois.
In voit bien ici le vent fouetter les 'crête'.
Une bonne utilisation de la DOF faible pour isoler le sujet, seu en netteté.

Hi Bertrand. That's funny how they are all pointed the same way. I like the light you had and the tight DOF works very well. Maybe you could frame it differently to spice up the composition. Nice catch Bertrand.

Well Bertrand I would have to admit that everyone longs for and needs meaning in a community. Our purpose can be found in community in stark contrast to our individualistic society. Perhaps the smartest ones on the face of the earth are those who have learnt some important lessons from nature. Good capture!

Trop drôles ces sternes qui regardent toutes dans la même direction. Qu'est ce qui pouvait donc bien retenir leur attention ainsi? Même si nous n'avons jamais la réponse, tu su profiter de cet instant pour nous faire ce petit bijou d'image. C'est bien cadré, super net, et ça m'a bien fait rigoler lorsque je l'ai découverte!

Le moment de capture est parfait avec tous les oiseaux positionées ans la même direction, comme s'ils attendait quelque chose qui arrivent de ce coté. Son positionement, allié à la définition et qualité de composition résulte dnas une bonne photo.

Salut Bertrand, moi qui essaye de prendre des mouettes en photo a chaque fois que je me rend a str malo je réalise la difficulté de l'exercice, tant par la luminosité difficile a gérer sur un pelage blanc que par la netteté ... alors je viens voir ce que propose le maitre et ne suis pas déçu !!
Elles sont superbes a toute regarder dans le meme sens :))
