Juste avant la tombée de la nuit,
tu aurais pu boire et manger après cette longue journée de jeûne.
Tu as voulu d'abord cet instant divin.
Parce que tu es pieux et tu es bon.

Great shot--i love the simplistic composition, with lots of blank dominant orange space countered by the blue of the man's robe. The softness of everything but the man gives the scene a feeling of serenity and solitude that fits the subject matter well.

Very good photo, but that is normally expected from you.
I like this one. It's simple, but radiate with this man's believe and hope. Although he is alone in the middle of nowhere, he keep his faith and believes in better tommorow. I can feel that in this work.

Very nice and effective portrait of this man at his most private moment - his moment with his belief, with his God, with himself. The contrast of colors here is a winner here, but I find the lack of contrast a bit disappointing. I managed a WS to deliver what I had in mind.

Salut Bertrand, elle est merveilleuse cette photo, avec l'association de la note et du titre comme toujours dans tes posts ça devient un régal :) Très poétique et mystique, si loin de ma vie tumultueuse et laique parisienne, elle laisse place à une grande évasion de l'esprit, de l'ame même.

Bertarnd bonsoir - tu as vraiment capté l'intensité de la prière et des lieux - le bokeh est splendide (augmenté je pense par l'effet de la lumière sur le sable) - c'est vraiment une merveilleuse image (j'aime ce bleu Yacouba comme on dit en Côte d'Ivoire)

Bonjour, Bertrand. C'est impressionnant de voir cet homme qui se recueille dans un endroit à l'aspect si peu hospitalier. Il se détache très bien sur le fond clair et sa position dans la photo nous permet d'apprécier l'immensité du désert où quelques taches de vert apparaissent à l'arrière-plan.

Une photo comme il n'en existe pas dans mon archive pourtant si vaste. Ici tout marche bien, et la force qui s'émane du personnage est évidente.En commençent par le bleu de sa robe,le profil noir, le petit bout de pied, le sable, le livre de prière, la netteté du visage et le flou de l'horizon de sable. Le poids des mots, le choc des photos, le minimalisme avec juste un element sur lequel poser le contraste, la couleur qui contraste, le bon positionnement et la touche de bokeh pour isoler le sujet du contexte et participer au moment de priere, c'est une composition tres efficace, bravo !

Quite an amazing shot. Its implicity is its strength. The devout reader in the desert, surrounded by barrenness, yet seemingly strong and untouched by the elements. The contrasting hues help deliver high impact, together with the fine lighting. Its a keeper, Bertrand. Very fine work.

Mon sentiment est que l'on ne peut-être qu'admiratif devant une telle image. Admiratif pour la maîtrise technique que tu as su mettre au seul service de l'émotion. Il n'est à mon avis de plus belle prouesse technique que celle qui sait se faire oublier au profit de l'image. Cette contribution en est un exemple presque parfait.
La simplicité de la composition va bien à cet homme en prière isolé au milieu de son environnement.
