Photographer’s Note
Taxicabs of Hong Kong form one of the most efficient and convenient taxi systems among major metropolitan areas in the world.
The service was founded in 1947 with 329 cars. By 1960 the service increased to 1,026 cars. The number of taxis would multiply to 10,000 by 1980 and today, they are around 20, 000 including New Territories and Lantau Island. Every day they serve about 1.1 million, 207,900 and 1,400 people respectively.
There are three types of taxis in Hong Kong, namely, urban taxis (red), New Territories taxis (green), and Lantau taxis (blue).
For another version of the same subject, please check out the Workshop and let me know which one you prefer (so I can show the best to my mother).
For more taxis of the world, you can have a look at Paris,Tokyo, New York and London.

Hi Andre. Very fine POV looking at this row of HK Cabs. Good clarity and colours as well as useful note. TFS. Murray.

Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves

Interesting capture and dificult choice, André. This is definately a better POV with a stronger perspective and I just love strong perspectives, but somehow the effect of the shallow dof is more effective on the other and I love that effect on the 'taxi' sign, so...I guess that I'll go for this last one.
Cheers,
Ricardo
p.s.- quite interesting and original theme.

Hi Andre,
Difficult decision. I'd say I prefer this one showing more of the sharp taxi. Although a bit higher POV would be better to shot the sign in complete. Strong perspective.
What's next, Bangkok?

Salut Andre!

I miss the single taxi neon sign here. Are you twisting your theme? Like the red/yellow glowing of the night light and the perspective compo. The ws isn't bad at all. To be honest, I don't know which one I prefer. Nice focus choice!

Hi Andre,
A great addition to your taxis series, I definately prefer this one because of your point of view and focus. Nice use of available light.

Hello Andre...
I started to comment on this shot the other day...had about half of the comment written; then all hel broke loose.
Anyway, I think I prefer the workshop because of the excellent use of DOF. The shallow depth allows a focal point in a shot with many repetitive patterns...this can numb the mind soimetimes. Not only that, but it highlight those signature Taxi signs that grace so many of your fine shots. As always your colors are vibrant and alive.
Regards,
Chris.
I do like the strong lines in this angle and the photo is ultra crisp...great in such low light.
