Photographer’s Note
Original Note: Child from the Vietnamese village of Chong Kneas on Tonle Sap just outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia. These children are really great. Just happy to be alive.
New Note: This was one of my first postings on TE. Now that I have figured out the whole size thing here and have gotten back to being used to PP I figured it would be a good time to repost this shot.
Taken in the floating village of Chong Kneas on Tonle Sap and located a few miles outside of Siem Reap. This is actually a Vietnamese village. This girl in particular really caught my attention there. I can still remember her yelling "Hey Mister...Picture" at me about 10 times before I turned to see her. She was a very animated character and settled down just enough to get a few sharp shots of her. Right after this photo I asked her what that means and she said "Everything OK"...thus the title. She was quite the optimistic ball of fire and the happiest thing I have ever seen. I can see why, hangin out on the back of a boat and jumping from dock to dock all day. I will post a picture of the whole boat in the workshop and post a picture of the front of the boat in a few days.
For the repost I cropped, framed and resized the photo for a larger post.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Wonderful portrait of this young girl. Definately worth re-posting this one and it's great to see that your knowledge and experience of composing, cropping and general PP work has improved since your earlier upload. Also nice that you have expanded your note to include a little more info. on the girl and where she lives.
I love the new, tighter crop and thew colours are beautiful. Great job, John - a definite improvement over the original and a lovely image.
Best regards,
Rich

I'm not the only one going blue! You got an A-ok sign? All I ever get from the kids is a peace sign. Always a peace sign. Good that she's found peace. ;)
I saw the wide angle, so I won't say I'd have liked to have seen a shot leading up the side of the boat to her. I mean, I *would*, but wouldn't want you swimming around in that mess in the Tonle Sap with your camera and all.... As it is, I like it. It's a good treatment. Wouldn't have minded more context. But that's me. I actually like the ws with the boat full of kids best of all the shots. To me, that's the thing. Something I never see in my part of the world - a canoe full of young kids managing for themselves in a giant lake. People won't even let their kids near a swimming pool alone where I live. So I find shots like that in the ws so illuminating, while a single girl at the end of the boat means looking for more value in just the expression and treatment, (both excellent) rather then the message about the world in general.

Hi John,
what a lovely composition full of "charme"!
Technically perfect for colours saturation and for sharpness.

Hi John
Perfect timing and great capture… I liked the hand gesture and the way the eye is not covered with the little fingers, again very good timing.
The vivid colors and the framing are perfect as well

Hi John,
Great shot! The reflections on the water in the background are so nice to have as a background. There isn't really anything reflecting, but just the smooth drawings in the water. Nice. And then the diagonal of the nose of the boat and the little kid razor-sharp. Great!!

Hi John
The title fits well to the beautiful image with the close up of the little girl sitting on the edge of the fishing boat with nice exposure, sharpness, colors and an adequate framing. Thanks as well for the WS, giving us an idea of the place.
Cheers
