Dans le Djoudj, les pélicans baignent dans le bonheur.
Ils ont pour eux la quiétude des terres sauvages.
Ils ont les eaux poissonneuses du fleuve Sénégal.
Ils ont le soleil pour sécher.
Ils vivent souvent en colonies immenses, impressionnantes.
Alors, lorsque la cohabitation devient pesante, ils s'échapent, ils partent en couple, ils batifolent.
La vie à deux est douce et reposante.

In the Djoudj, the pelicans bathe in happiness.
They have for them the quietude of the wild grounds. They have full of fish water of the Senegal river. They have the sun to dry.
They often live in immense colonies, impressive.
Then, when the cohabitation becomes heavy, they escape, they leave in couple.
The life in couple is soft and resting.

Yes, in the way you tell in the note, their life sounds quite pleasant. Nice photo Bertrand, with soft colors and balance framing. It´s funny to do photos of animals, I havent done it till my visit to Ngorongoro park in Tanzania, but I think I´ve like it. Take care and live the life à deux.

I like this shot because of the good placement of both birds and the theme attached to the image. Good compo with nice light and excellent colours. Both pelicans seem to enjoy the time under the sun and their own company. Thanks Bertrand.

Superbe Bertrand, en humain adorateur des espèces animales qui nous entourent je ne peux résister a laisser qq mots sur ce couple de pélican, en plus ceux la sont particulièrement beaux, tous blanc avec un bout du bec bleu, j'adoore :)
Je me demande si avec un bon vieux gros vignetting énorme ça n'aurait pas été encore meilleur ... enfin j'dis ça mais je sais que tu n'aimes pas trop la retouche, demande a xda il maitrise bien le vignetting

Très fascinants les pélicans, j'en ai photographiés eu zoo de Aachen et je dois t'avouer que vu leur taille, ils impressionnaient pas mal de monde. Moi, je venais de photographier un casoar, il fallait autre chose pour m'émouvoir après cela.
Une très belle photo peut-être un poil surexposée.

I love wildlife photography and this is a very good sample, Bertrand. Wonderul off center placement of this couple. It seems that the bird in the front is looking exactly into your lens not beeing shy to be in the middle of the stage.
I wish there would be more wildlife around my area and I will try this or next weekend to get some turkey vultures at migration through california.

Hi Bertrand, You have captured this scene well. It is good to see any couple of mates as you show us here. Pellicans are pretty awkward in some ways but can show beauty too as you have illustrated in this composition. Well cropped with more space at the front. TFS. Murray.

J'aime l'atmosphère sereine qui se dégage de ta photo. Les tonalités sont douces et on voit bien les détails du plumage et du bec.
