Photographer’s Note

The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh is a complex of buildings which are the royal abode of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Kings of Cambodia have occupied it since it was built in 1866, with a period of absence when the country came into turmoil during and after the reign of the Khmer Rouge.

The grey structure is the stupa of King Suramarit, considered the first modern king of Cambodia.

Une vraie carte postale (ce n'est pas du tout péjoratif comme remarque) avec des couleurs naturelles qui changent de ta précédente image. J'aime bien la manière dont la végtation entoure les bâtiments et le fait qu'il n'y ait personne en vue donne une impression de grand calme!

Nice vibrant colors, with an all different atmosphere if we compare it to the previous one. There is less poetry here but definitely not less beauty. The architecture is impressive and the way you captured is very effective. The placement of the objects show space between them and that gives a great 3D feel to the scene. I like it.

Une vraie carte postale (ce n'est pas du tout péjoratif comme remarque) avec des couleurs naturelles qui changent de ta précédente image. C'est drole je me retrouve souvent dans les mots de Bibi... C'est beau c'est fleuri, c'est printanier et ca invite a la ballade, c'est tres different de ce que tu vas decouvrir en Suisse, ciels gris et charges, coulees de boue, rivieres en crue, glissements de terrain, tu verras c'est le lieu reve pour le N&B et le sepia ! N'oublie pas d'appeler tes hotels avant de te deplacer pour confirmer qu'ils sont encore debouts...
Alors tu arrives a Paris en fin de semaine, et apres tu vas a Bruges c'est ca ?

le graphisme des pagodes est toujours très attirant pour notre oeil d'occidental,
la verdure et les fleurs donnent un coté printannier à ta composition .

J'y étais il y a deux semaines mais jamais de soleil! Et il y a trois mois, le jour ou j'y suis allé, le premier ministre du Viet Nam visitait le Cambodge, et le palais était fermé... Ici la lumière est superbe, le cadrage de la scène bien choisi et équilibré. Sympathique les feuilles a gauche...

Une prise de vue très soignée avec de nombreux plans qui s'étendent des feuilles, au ciel en passant par ses jolis bâtiments et ses massifs colorés. Le ciel est fantastiquement clair ce qui n'est pas forcément fréquent en Asie du Sud-Est.

Hi Andre,
The colours are very crisp and bright, not at the least by using that beautiful piece of glass. Also harpness and contrast are at high level. Although some people would like the leaves on the left out, i like them in for more depth and a darker contrast part in the image, looks good with that red on the other side.

Salut,

Cette photo aux teintes éclatantes s’éclate en exotisme et luxuriance. Partout regorgent des détails incroyables, tantôt dans la végétation, tantôt dans les ornements. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs et donne beaucoup de dimension. AM

;) Je demeure maintenant à Montréal et j’adore la ville! On peut faire du vélo partout!

your title seems to be quite appropriate for this image and I'm not just referring to the clean composition that you arranged here but mainly to the perfect cleanness of this place. Even the sky shines in its best without any cloud to distract the attention from the flora, temple and stupa.
Your next travel destiny that you describe in your intro sounds like swiss chocolate dissolving on my tongue - I envy you for that travel. I already can picture the marvelous shots that will come from that trip.

Like a Canon calender hanging on my wall... January 31th? I could bet it was May 10th or something like that.
So nice colors, so sharp everything, the architecture, light...everything is perfect. I am not jealous, because it is such a beautiful place that, whatever you took would be a calendar leaf.
