Photographer’s Note

One of the coldest days on my 15 months long stay on Polish Antarctic Station "H.Arctowski".

This day it was -22 °C it was windy: 20 knots, so with wind chill factor it was -40 °C (-39 °F ). This weather was for almost two weeks so our bay started to freeze. It was too cold and too windy to go anywhere, I just went to main building for a lunch (because it was in winter time it was just after sunrise) and saw this mist coming from the north. It was warm air coming to us from Drak'e Passage, after that it was two days of strong wind - almost hurricane (up to 120 knots!).

With Antarctic greetings - Piotr Angiel
